HEAVY CIVIL
Project Description
With the country in lockdown because of the Corona virus, your company has chosen to go back to the basics and bid work that you started out doing. You will be looking into highway projects that consist of removal and replacement of existing highway lanes. This work is usually phased out so be prepared to explain how you will keep traffic flowing. You will be required to assemble a complete estimate which will include grading, aggregate base, concrete paving, asphalt work and miscellaneous subcontractor work required to support these activities. As with any highway project the schedule must always be considered to not impede the traveling public.

SPECIALTY
Project Description
1. Introduction
The objective of this SOW is to replace deteriorating steam main support structures that overpass a main roadway at Army Ammunition Plant (AAP) campus.  The deteriorating support structrues shall be replaced with new steel frame support structures to improve safety, reduce the risk of steam outage to manufacuring buildings, and meet Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT) road clearance requirements.  The support structures and areas of pipeline to be replaced and removed are outlined below.

2. Background
Steam mains provide steam to manufacturing buildings for process steam used in the metal forming process and for comfort heat.  Deteriorating support structures significantly increase the risk of collapsing of steam mains, which may interrupt steam distribution and shut down plant-wide production.  Additionally, failure to support structures will cause property damage, may release asbestos, and will present a significant risk of serious injury to anyone in the affected area.  The table below identifies areas that are of primary concern and need to be addressed under this effort.

3. Scope of Work
The selected contractor will be responsible for the design of the supports, based on feedback to be provided by the AAP Engineering Team. Each stage of the project will require approval from the AAP Project Manager before moving on to the next stage. The selected contractor must ensure it has adequate resources for designing, building and installing the new supports. Specific deliverables and milestones will be listed in the Work Requirements.

4. Period of Performance
The Period of Performance shall not exceed 12 months once authorization to proceed is given by the Buyer. All work must be scheduled to complete within this timeframe.
